Our online training courses are accessed via the Internet allowing candidates to learn at a pace, time and location convenient to them.

Each online course completes with its own online examination. Successful completion of an examination results in the presentation of a “Certificate of Training” that can be used to demonstrate the candidate has undertaken suitable legionella training as required for compliance purposes.

These Highfield Awards in Legionella Awareness (RQF) have been developed and are awarded by Highfield Qualifications and sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The RQF is a qualification framework regulated by Ofqual and CCEA Regulation.

This course is designed for those learners wishing to gain an understanding of practical Legionella control in hot & cold water systems. (It is not a nationally recognised qualification RQF without also completing an HABC assessment).

The start of the course provides learners with the knowledge and understanding of the events required for Legionella to cause infection, how to identify and control the risks associated with Legionella and how legislation and codes of practice can support its control. It is also designed to aid in ensuring the competence of all operatives who have responsibilities understand the significance of the tasks and how they fit into Legionella control.

The second part of the course provides learners with the knowledge and understanding of Legionella control in the design and operation of hot & cold water systems. It is also designed to aid in ensuring the competence of all operatives who have allocated responsibilities understand the significance of the tasks and how they fit into Legionella control.

This course is designed for those learners wishing to gain an understanding of practical Legionella control in hot & cold water systems. (It is not a nationally recognised qualification RQF without also completing an HABC assessment).

The objective of the course is to support a role in the workplace and for those either in the role of or aspiring to be in the role of Responsible Person relating specifically to control of Legionella on a site. The course does not cover the specific requirements of Hot & cold water or Cooling water system

The course provides learners with the knowledge and understanding of the events required to cause infection and the impact an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease would have on a working site, how to identify and control the risks associated with Legionella and how legislation and codes of practice can support its control. It is also designed to aid in ensuring the competence of managers who have responsibilities understand the significance of the tasks and how they fit into Legionella control.
