Setting up a site: the order to do things

Once a site exists (added by hand, from a risk assessment, or from a spreadsheet), you configure it from the Customise Site menu that appears when the site is open.

Skip most of this if you retrieved from an assessment

Retrieve RA and Upload Previous already create the systems, locations, assets and tasks. You mainly need to check them and run the site planner.

Recommended order

  1. Systems — the water systems on site (mains cold, stored hot, and so on).

  2. Locations — the places on site where monitoring happens, in the order an engineer would walk them.

  3. Assets — the individual items in each location (outlets, tanks, calorifiers, TMVs).

  4. Tasks — what has to be done, how often, by whom, and which tests and assets each task covers.

  5. Optionally Merge a risk assessment to pull structure and remedial actions from an L8MS assessment into what you have built.

  6. Run Site Planner — turns the tasks into a dated 52-week schedule of visits.

Change something later?

If you add or change tasks after the planner has run, run the site planner again (or use Alter Tasks for a targeted change) so the schedule catches up.
